CFO Advisory for growing businesses

Financial clarity for the business you've built — and the one you're building next.

Clarity CFO Advisors brings senior-level financial leadership to owner-led companies between $500K and $2.5M in revenue, without the cost of a full-time hire.

The clarity gap

Most owners aren't short on effort. They're short on visibility.

By the time a business crosses $500K in revenue, the spreadsheet that used to work doesn't anymore — but a full finance department is still years away. That gap is where we work.

"I don't actually know if I'm profitable."

Revenue is up, but margin is a guess. We build reporting that shows you what's really driving — or draining — your bottom line.

Cash flow feels unpredictable.

Sales look healthy but cash is always tight. We build forecasting that shows what's coming, before it surprises you.

There's no real budget or forecast.

Decisions get made on instinct because there's nothing else to go on. We put a plan underneath the instinct.

You've outgrown your own bandwidth.

The books, the systems, and the decisions have all landed on the owner's desk. We take the financial piece off it.

You're preparing to scale, borrow, or raise.

Lenders and investors ask questions your current reporting can't answer. We get your numbers ready before they ask.

About

I built this firm around a single skill: making complicated things clear.

Before founding Clarity CFO Advisors, I served as Director of Finance and Operations for an Owner's Representative firm in the life sciences and biotech industry — work that meant sitting between owners, operators, and complex capital projects, and making sure every side understood what the numbers actually meant.

Leadership doesn't need more data. It needs the data broken down into something they can act on.

That's the work I do now: taking financial and operational complexity and breaking it into pieces that are easy to understand, so owners can find the root cause of an issue, build a more efficient process around it, and make decisions with confidence instead of guesswork.

Who I work with

Owner-led businesses, $500K–$2.5M in revenue

Generalist in scope, with particular depth in life sciences and biotech-adjacent businesses.

Founder-Led Businesses

Companies that have grown past what the owner or a bookkeeper can manage alone, and need senior financial judgment without a full-time hire.

Life Sciences & Biotech

Vendors, service providers, and small firms operating alongside the life sciences industry, where grant funding and capital projects add complexity.

Family & Independently Owned

Businesses preparing for their next stage — a loan, an investment, a succession plan — and want their financial picture in order first.

Common questions

A few things owners usually ask first

Is a CFO Advisor the same as a Fractional CFO?

Yes — "CFO Advisor" and "Fractional CFO" describe the same kind of engagement: senior finance leadership on a part-time or as-needed basis, rather than a full-time hire. I use "CFO Advisor" because it better reflects how I work — as a hands-on partner and advisor, not just a periodic outside consultant.

What does this cost compared to hiring a full-time CFO?

A full-time CFO typically isn't practical — or necessary — at this revenue range. Advisory engagements are scoped to the hours your business actually needs, at a fraction of a full-time salary and benefits cost.

My books are a mess. Can you still help?

That's a common starting point, not a barrier. Process and systems cleanup is often the first phase of the work, before deeper strategy and forecasting begin.

How much time will this take from me?

Very little. The goal is to take financial complexity off your plate, not add another task to it. Most of the work happens on my end, with a regular, simple check-in with you.
